Resonance and Reflection: The Queen Square Beethoven Series
With our innovative new hospital concert series at the NHNN (Queen Square, London) we aim to enhance patient, staff, and visitor well-being by bringing world class chamber music directly into a health care setting. Companionship will be a central theme of the series, each Beethoven quartet being paired alongside a directly linked companion piece, thereby reflecting the vital relationship between patient and carer.
Following a pilot scheme earlier this year we are thrilled to have secured full funding for the first year of this series. However, our vision is a long-term commitment. We are now looking to raise vital support to secure years two and three, allowing us to present a comprehensive three year Beethoven cycle at the hospital.
Shaping the Future: The Emerging Quartet Mentoring Scheme
We believe the future of chamber music relies on supporting the exceptional talent of tomorrow. We are currently developing an exciting new mentoring scheme designed to bridge the gap for young string quartets as they transition into professional careers.
We recently launched this initiative by welcoming a talented Royal Academy of Music student quartet to our summer school at a heavily subsidised rate.
Our goal is to expand this initial success into a fully integrated, permanent project. We want to offer a young group structured time to interact with and be coached directly by members of the Maggini Quartet, funded places on Maggini Quartet Summer Course (https://maggini.net/ampleforth/) and a performance opportunity on our concert series. With your support we can continue to bring this vital scheme to life.
